Samos Greece: The Complete Travel Guide

Samos is one of the greenest and most varied Greek islands I’ve visited — with seaside villages, mountain scenery, ancient history, clear blue water and a more relaxed feel than many of the better-known islands. In this Samos Greece travel guide, I explore the island over 4 nights in late May, staying in Kokkari on the north coast and visiting some of the main towns, beaches, villages and historic sights around the island. I start in Pythagoreio, one of the most attractive harbour towns on Samos, before visiting the Tunnel of Eupalinus, Panagia Spiliani Monastery and the Heraion of Samos. I also spend time in Kokkari, explore the mountain village of Manolates, visit Karlovasi and walk towards the Potami waterfalls, before heading to the south coast around Ormos Marathokampos, Kampos Marathokampos and Psili Ammos Beach. This guide is aimed at helping you decide whether Samos is worth visiting, where to stay, what to see, how long you might need, and what kind of traveller the island is best suited to.
