La sexta patrulla en el 'Águila IV', Algeciras 19/02/24- Aduanas SVA

#sva #customs #customssurveillance #aeat February 17, 2024 | 11:03 PM We patrolled with Customs Surveillance officers from the Tax Agency one night in the Port of Algeciras. The speed cameras were active, and we had to be very careful because, for the past week, the aggression of the drug traffickers has been a growing concern. "They are much more aggressive and try to ram us on many occasions. They often try to hit our engines to disable us," says one officer, who adds that his mother "can't watch television" since she saw the news of the deaths of the three Civil Guard officers in Barbate. The officers wear bulletproof vests, as they know that the drug traffickers are armed, especially due to robberies between gangs. "The problem is that if we act, they think we are another organization stealing their drugs," an officer points out. We set out with them from base with a plan, and some time later, the first alert came in. The teams they coordinated with had reported a possible target, so they approached to check if it was a drug-running speedboat, although it turned out not to be. However, another alert soon followed: an unidentified sailboat was spotted in a high-risk area, after which the Customs Surveillance officers from the Tax Agency ruled out the possibility of it being a dangerous vessel. These officers know all too well what danger is, as they face it constantly: "I had to fire my weapon to prevent them from running us over," one of them said. Finally, the patrol day ended peacefully, although they weren't complacent, as they knew that every time they went out on duty, they were risking their lives. +What is Customs-Customs Surveillance and what does it do?    • ¿Qué es y qué hace Vigilancia Aduanera?Ent...   CUSTOMS COMPLAINTS - CUSTOMS SURVEILLANCE If you are aware of any fact or circumstance related to a crime or infraction that falls under the jurisdiction of the Customs Surveillance Service, you can report it using any of the methods provided below: Toll-free telephone: 900351378.
