Kung Fu in Beijing: The Cheng Baguazhang Linear 64 Palms Taught by Shifu Guanxin.

This is the first video in a series of extended kung fu lessons that I filmed in Beijing. This first series focuses on the Linear 64 Palms of Ba Gua. The Linear 64 Palms were created by Liudekwan who was the Third Apprentice of Bagua founder Donghaichuan. Prior to studding under Donghaichuan, Liudekwan was an accomplished bodyguard and combatant. The Linear 64 Palms was Liudekwan's great contribution to Bagau and is widely regarded as the arts premier catalogue for the study of combat shapes. Following his creation of the set, the Linear 64 was immediately adopted by many of Liudekwan's fellow apprentices and is still taught today in multiple Bagua sects. Not long after Liudekwan created the set he left Beijing and was never heard from again. His legacy contained in these rad 64 shapes. In these videos I will present not only the 64 Palms, as taught to me by my Bagua Uncle, Shifu Guanxin, but also the complete footage of me learning this set in Beijing.
