POWER LINES Blew Up in my face while I was cleaning this Yard for FREE.

I’ve done a lot of free yard cleanups over the years—but this one nearly ended my life. While helping clean up a yard in what’s become known as “The Block of Hell” here in town, I ran into a dangerous situation. The property was covered in invasive plants, poison ivy, and Virginia creeper tangled all over the house—including up in the power lines. Now, I know better than to pull vines from a power line. I even looked at it and thought, “This could go bad.” And… I pulled them anyway. As soon as I yanked the first vine, the power line arced and an arc flash exploded right in front of me. If that wire had stayed in contact—there’s a good chance I wouldn’t be here to write this. It was a terrifying reminder of how fast things can go wrong. To top it off, the day before this happened, I found out my wife and I are expecting our third child. I’m beyond grateful to be alive, and I’ll never pull vines off a power line again. Lesson learned—with a scar and a story to go with it. On a brighter note—this was also the day I got a delivery from Toro, who sent over equipment I’ll be giving away to homeowners I’ve helped so they can maintain their yards long term.
