Tenth defendant in court for charges in connection to brutal beating of inmate Robert Brooks

A tenth unnamed defendant in the Robert Brooks beating case is expected to appear in Oneida County Court today on second degree murder charges. Brooks, an inmate at Marcy Correctional facility in Oneida County was in handcuffs and beaten by staff of the prison in December, leading to his death. Brooks death was ruled a homicide. Medical examiners determined the cause to be compression of the neck and multiple blunt impact injuries. He died the next day at a nearby hospital.
