Haemophilia physiotherapy exercise series - Pilates exercise series
Good balance and core strength are really important to help provide a strong platform on which to function. There are many reasons why balance and your core strength may be reduced and for those with all severity types of haemophilia it is important to maximise these. These videos provides exercises to help challenge and improve your balance and core strength. The exercises are taken from a class that is run weekly at the Oxford Haemophilia centre and will hopefully allow access to those who are unable to attend the class or wish to try the exercises several times a week. The first video focuses on standing balance and the second video is floor based and focuses on your core strength. Before attempting the exercises you can always discuss with your local Haemophilia centre. Take it steady and work within your limits. Always start slowly and stand near a wall or have something nearby to help steady your balance if needed. These exercises can all be progressed to challenge you further, so speak to your local physiotherapist and they will be able to adapt them to ensure you are improving every week. Have a go and more importantly enjoy!
