Donkey Kong Bananza Fixed The DK Identity Crisis
I’ve spent years trying to love Donkey Kong… and failing every single time. From DKC Returns on 3DS, to Tropical Freeze on both Wii U and Switch, to revisiting the SNES classics and even picking up Returns HD—nothing ever clicked. I even turned to Donkey Kong 64, thinking a 3D platformer would finally win me over. But it didn’t. And then Donkey Kong Bananza launched on the Switch 2—a brand-new 3D platformer, and maybe the last shot for me and DK to finally get along. In this video, I challenge myself to confront years of disappointment with this iconic series, and ask the question: Was it ever for me? Or did Bananza finally change everything?
