Treinador de jiu-jitsu é preso após denúncias de abuso sexual

Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu coach Melqui Galvão was arrested after being accused of sexually abusing his students. The arrest occurred after complaints filed by the parents of a 17-year-old girl, who claimed to have been a victim during an international competition. Investigations revealed that two other young women were also victims of the instructor. The Civil Police operation included warrants in Jundiaí, in the interior of São Paulo state, where cell phones, computers, and a fake weapon were seized. Melqui was temporarily detained in Amazonas, where he worked as a civil police officer. In audio recordings obtained by the investigation, the coach indirectly admitted to touching his student while she was sleeping and offered money to resolve the situation with the victim's parents. The young woman left the country fearing the alleged threats from Melqui Galvão.
