In Episode 08, we visit a very special blacksmith’s workshop in Transylvania. György Nagy is one of the few remaining craftsmen who still practice this trade as a family tradition, using traditional techniques. His work can be found on many prominent buildings across Romania – especially in Transylvania – including the Szekler National Museum, the Black Church, and numerous well-known castles and fortresses. Watching György in his workshop, it’s clear that he is completely in his element. We experience this passion firsthand as we explore curious objects in his own small blacksmith museum and even see him at work. We also learn that his skills come from his father, who introduced him to the craft at a young age and taught him everything that defines the profession. This video was produced in 4K.
