Vogesen - Drei Burgen Rundwanderung nahe Colmar

A beautiful circular tour that is worthwhile especially when clouds are hanging in the mountains of the Vosges. Above Colmar, a beautiful circular hike takes you past three castles in the hills. We start not far from Hohlandsbourg, where you can park for free. Then we walk through the rustic forest without any major inclines past rock formations (worth seeing: Le rocher Turenne) to the Trois Chateaux, a collection of a total of three castle ruins from the 11th and 12th centuries. From here, the descent is a little steeper and you continue along forest paths to the smaller ruins of Chateau Hagueneck, where you can climb up to the tower. Finally, it's back up the hill to Hohlandsbourg, the only one of the castles that can only be visited with an entrance fee. You should check the opening times beforehand, especially outside the summer season. No refreshment stops along the way. Start: Hohlandsbourg, several car parks. Distance: 10.7 km Duration: 3.5 hours Metres in altitude: 495 Difficulty: Easy-medium, some surefootedness required on the descent from the Trois Chateaux, otherwise very easy paths, never particularly steep.
