The surrounding valley floodplains and lush meadows provide an ideal habitat for frogs, insects and many other animals, and so hundreds of storks often gather there in summer to forage for food. The high moors of the Vosges also provide a home for rare animals and plants. The inconspicuous sundew, one of the few carnivorous plants, thrives here. And lynx have also been roaming the forests of the Vosges again since they were reintroduced to the wild in 1983. Impressive mountain landscapes, pristine valleys, species-rich meadows and quiet high moors - in atmospheric images, the film portrays the Vosges as a varied natural idyll. The focus is on the storks. From their return in spring to their departure for their winter quarters in autumn, we follow their exciting lives. Storks are considered lucky charms and symbols of fertility, and since they nest again in the Münstertal, the human world seems reconciled with nature. #docu #stork #realstoriesgermany -- Topics in this video: ▼ 0:00 Intro 0:30 The stork colony in the Münstertal valley. 3:27 The stork meadows and their biodiversity 6:40 Thunderstorm in the Münstertal 8:36 After the heavy rains 10:18 The growing up of the storks 12:53 The end of summer -- Real Stories Germany is your home for documentaries, series and contemporary history!
