600. Find the Composition in Fluid Art (Fix Any Bloom Blowout)

#fluidart #bloomblowout This is the final piece in my green/blue/gold series—and this one is all about composition. In this video, I take a bloom blowout and show you how to find the composition within it. Instead of starting over, I study what’s already there and use controlled tilting and spinning to bring the strongest parts forward. This is where fluid art shifts from reactive to intentional. If you’ve ever had a pour that felt “off,” this approach will help you see it differently—and fix it. This piece was created using a color blocking technique to lay down the initial colors before the bloom. THE RECIPE: House Paint-base aka puddle for the substrate: Glidden MultiPro in Eggshell from Home Depot. Pouring Medium aka PM Recipe: mix with all colors EXCEPT the cell activator color: Sherwin Williams Infinity Base C In Semi-Gloss (Lowe's only) and Varathane Triple Thick Water-based Gloss Polyeurathane (Home Depot) mixed 2:1 ratio paint to varnish. Add small traces of water to thin if needed. Use the colors and brands of your choice! These tutorials are meant to educate and inspire! Here's how to mix: Pigments: For a 3 oz cup I add 1/2 teaspoon of pigment powder to the cup, then add enough gloss varnish (any brand; I use JoSonja gloss varnish) to cover the powder. Mix well until all pigment is thoroughly wet; then add the pouring medium; mix well. Recommend a Covid mask to mix. For any brand fluid or high flow acrylics: I put 2 1/2 ounces of the pouring medium into a 3 ounce cup, then squirt in color until I reach my desired shade. Mix well. For tube paint (medium or heavy body paint), I added an 1/2 ounce of paint (1/2 teaspoon) to a 3 ounce cup, then added 2 ounces of pouring medium. If still thick I add a squirt of Golden's High Flow Medium (thins and extends acrylic colors) OR water, and stir well. Cell Activator/Color: Australian Floetrol + Amsterdam's Greenish Blue. 2 -1 ratio Australian Floetrol to paint.
