Chantal Maillard. El sentido del dolor.

Pain and suffering are universal, inevitable, capricious, incomprehensible, but fundamentally human. Dignity, love, freedom, justice, solidarity, joy, and happiness are human, but so too are pain, suffering, bitterness, and sorrow. Human beings can only live an authentic life if they experience both the caress of love and the sting of suffering. We distort the truth about humanity if we try to exclude experiences that, while human, are not pleasant or enjoyable. We would diminish humanity and make it captive to a great lie. #ChantalMaillard, poet and philosopher, is the author of several works in which she reflects extensively on the theme of pain and mourning. In 2004, he was awarded the National Poetry Prize for his work Killing Plato (Tusquets, 2004), and in 2007, the Critics' Prize for Castilian Poetry and the Andalusia Critics' Prize for Threads (Tusquets, 2007). #TooHuman is a series of dialogues led by Dr. José Antonio Trujillo, borrowing its title from the expression coined by Nietzsche in his book. Its aim is to explore major humanist themes through the lens of renowned authors in these complex times. In a bold yet accessible way, we will converse to shed light on some of the contemporary areas of current social debate. The commitment is to continue growing as individuals and as a society by sharing reflections, doubts, and certainties. 🔸 More information ☞ https://cclamalagueta.com/eventos/el-... #CentroCulturalLaMalagueta of the #DiputacióndeMálaga
