WHAT TO EAT IN PONTIANAK, WEST BORNEO | DIY Wisata Kuliner Pontianak Kalbar

Today we decided to do our very own DIY Food Tour in Pontianak, West Borneo! As an Indonesian, Halef was excited to compile a list of what to eat during a Wisata Kuliner Pontianak (Culinary Tour of Pontianak). Pontianak is one of the top foodie destinations in Indonesia, and it's easy to understand why. The city is full of amazing places to get tasty food - all the way from coffee to dessert! Here are some of the dishes we tried, as well as where to get them (Makanan Khas Pontianak Kalimantan Barat): 1. Kedai Kopi Asiang (Warung Kopi Asiang, Jalan Merapi) 2. Bubur Ikan Pontianak - since the Bubur Ikan Ahian was closed, we got the Fish Porridge from the nearby Rumah Makan Borneo (Jalan WR Supratman) 3. Che Hun Tiau dessert, with Bonko, from Ahua, a street food stall just outside RM Borneo, (Jalan WR Supratman) 4. Bubur Pedas Pak Ngah - spicy porridge (Jalan P. Natakusuma) 5. Es Krim Petrus, or Es Krim Angi, Ice Cream Angi for its amazing durian ice cream on coconut bowl (Jalan Karel Satsuit Tubun) 6. Nasi Akwang for its Nasi Campur Mixed Rice. This is not a halal food! (Jalan Pahlawan) 7. La Gita Cakes for its Kueh Lapis Spekkoek Lapis Cake (Jalan Pahlawan) 8. Mietiaw Apollo - Mietiaw Goreng, aka Fried Noodles (Jalan Patimura) 9. Pisang Goreng from a street stall Pontianak And since we mentioned it, we never made it to taste Bubur Gunting. Eventually we would need to go back to Pontianak and try some!
