What Happened to Mars Lights? | History in the Dark

In the 1930's, a man named Jerry Kennelly, a Chicago firefighter, invented a new type of light that moved and oscillated. Soon he would found a company called the Mars Signal Light Company and produce many variations of these lights. They would become quite popular among railroads and firefighting departments, but they aren't seen on railroads anymore.
