Vitasta Ghoshal is a very popular writer and novelist of this time. Born in North Kolkata. He studied at Ramakrishna (Sarda) Girls' Vidyamandir, College Scottish Church. He studied MA in History from Calcutta University and Library Science from Rabindra Bharati. He then taught in a college. He spent a lot of his childhood and adolescence in Azimganj and Rampurhat, the historical cities of Murshidabad. As a result, his writings simultaneously depict urban and rural life, lifestyle and changing scenes of society. Being a student of history, his subjects of writing repeatedly included history, Puranas, Ramayana, Mahabharata. He is the head of "Bhasha Sangsad" and "Anubad Patrika" organizations. For literature, he received the Leela Roy Award given by Bangla Academy in 2026, the "Saraswat Award" given by Bangla Academy, the "Vivekananda Youth Award", the "Ekantor Katha Sahityahik" Award, the "Ketaki" Poet Award, the "Vijaya Sarbjaya Bhagini Nivedita Award", the "Madanmohan Tarkalanka Award", the Book Friend "Best Novelist" Award 2024, and several other awards. He is averse to publicity, and spends his free time in various social activities outside the confines of his work, both in the office and in his family.
