Today, we've recreated the recipe for Cowboy Beans, a dish eaten by US soldiers during World War II. 🍽️ What are Cowboy Beans? Origin: Origins: Originated as a quick and easy meal for cowboys during the American Wild West. Characteristics: This dish is a hearty stew-like dish made with baked beans, bacon, meat, and spicy spices. It's a kind of upgraded version of baked beans. (It also shares a similar lineage with Korea's Budae Jjigae.) Popularity: In Korea, it became especially famous for the "Trinity Mukbang" scene in the movie "Trinity Is Still My Name," where the main character devours a bean stew. (This film is a "spaghetti western" produced in Italy!) 🥣 Today's Recipe (World War II US Army Style) During World War II, US soldiers added simple ingredients to canned "baked beans" to enhance their flavor and nutrition. I recreated the taste of that era using commercially available canned beans. Main Ingredients: BUSH'S BEST Canned Baked Beans Bacon, Onions Heinz Tomato Ketchup, Heinz Mustard Brown Sugar, Vinegar (Optional) Cooking Instructions: Fry the bacon in oil, sauté the onions, then add the canned beans and the remaining seasonings.
