Foroglio is a picturesque Alpine village, a gem with its rustic stone houses and the atmosphere of a bygone era. It preserves the memory of rural life. A visit to its famous waterfall, which drops a full 110 meters, is a must. At this time of year, after the snow melt and abundant spring rains, it is at its most beautiful! And that's why I recommend this hike right now. The entire valley is dotted with numerous waterfalls and shines with a vibrant green. Following the Calnègia River, we visit three maggenghi (medium-altitude pastures): Puntid, with its picturesque stone bridge, Gerra, with the famous Splüia Bela, and Calnègia. This valley is characterized by the presence of enormous boulders, which human ingenuity once transformed into dwellings or shelters (splüie, balme) and hanging gardens (giarditt). It is therefore a very interesting hike, requiring sufficient time to fully explore each site. The elevation gain is minimal and follows the "transhumance route," stone mule tracks. It is suitable for families.
