Hip Openers | 50 Minute Yoga Class | Ballet Peak Pose

This class focuses heavily on external hip rotation - strengthening the abductors, like the glute medius, and stretching the adductor (inner thigh) muscles. Through a creative warm up and traditional sun salutations we build our way up to the peak pose: Ballet Pose. I've learned this pose from one of my teachers, and I realize there isn't technically a Sanskrit name to go with it, so I'd classify this as a variation of Utthita Hasta Padangustasana - one that I actually find easier due to the angle of external rotation and placement of the hip joint!
