Coastal Cruising California! Newport Beach Sunset Sailing and Night Anchoring

Its crazy to think in this huge world I can still find places that are just me and nature. I was the only boat out on the sail from dana to newport and was enjoying this sunset. It is really special to me that I can have moments like these alone in the ocean. It is magic! This was the most beautiful sunset sail I have ever been on. I really enjoyed how calm it was and the way the homes on the hills lit up at night was gorgeous. I hope you enjoy the clips of the gorgeous colors! In this video I solo sail (motor) to Newport harbor from Dana point harbor. It took about three and a half hours to get there because the wind and current were strong! I enjoy sitting out on the front of the boat when I can, thats the coolest place to be. Once the sun set the weather calmed and we were able to go 4 knots towards our destination. It would have been faster if the current wasnt so strong that day! The camera struggles to see anything at night. I think I need to get a lens that shows night footage better. I made it work with the solar torch that gave enough light so you can see, and some post editing of lightening up the night footage. Using my phone at night to film worked way better than my camera so that was helpful to get some shots! Going into newport at night was beautiful, calm, and peaceful. The anchorage was a still as could be it honestly felt like we were in a dock! I used the timelapse setting on the gopro to be able to film me dropping the anchor at night and that worked pretty well! In the next video I have a SURPRISE for you guys!!!!
