One of the lawyers for the schismatic nuns of Belorado, Florentino Aláez, has stated that the eviction that took place this Thursday at 9:30 a.m. "is provisional," explaining that until the Supreme Court rules on the appeal filed by the nuns' defense, "the sentence will not be final." This Thursday morning, the eviction order for the Belorado monastery was carried out, but Aláez is hopeful that the Supreme Court will overturn the Archdiocese's claim and return ownership of the monastery to the nuns. He asserted that "sooner or later, the nuns will return to Belorado." For his part, Gerardo Sanz-Rubert, the lawyer for the Federation of Poor Clares, who was accompanied by Sister Amparo, explained that after inspecting the monastery, a report was filed because "furniture, documents, and part of the monastery's archives are missing," in addition to altarpieces from the church.
