Las exmonjas de Belorado abandonan el monasterio y entregan las llaves al Arzobispado

Burgos, March 12 (EFE) – The former nuns of Belorado left the monastery in Burgos early this morning, just hours before the deadline set by the Briviesca Court of First Instance (Burgos) on Thursday, March 12, for them to voluntarily vacate the monastery or face eviction. According to their spokesperson, Francisco Canals, who spoke early this morning, the former nuns left the monastery at 2:46 a.m. after carrying out a symbolic act in which the former abbess, Laura García de Viedma, extinguished a final candle on the church altar and switched off all the lights in the building.
