Joen is out working this morning, so Lara and I are taking things extra slow at home — soaking in the calm, the sunshine, and the quiet rhythm of the day. Living here for over five years has made me deeply appreciate how special this place is. Madeira may not feel like paradise to everyone… but if you love nature, fresh air, and sunlight — it truly feels like one. The day begins gently with a simple, nourishing breakfast inspired by my childhood in Denmark… a healthier version of strawberries and cream 🍓 It’s funny how small traditions stay with you — and how we slowly reshape them into something that fits our lives now. From there, the day unfolds naturally… a bit of laundry, getting dressed (and undressed again, hehe), and leaning into comfort over perfection. As I grow older, I find myself choosing softness — in my clothes, my routines, and the way I move through life. Then it’s time for a beach trip with Lara 🐾 One of her favorite places… and honestly, one of mine too. There’s something magical about the ocean. The sound, the movement, the way it instantly calms your mind and body. Even when the clouds roll in unexpectedly, it still feels like the perfect moment. Later, the day turns into something even more special… spontaneous plans with friends in the mountains. Fresh air, good coffee, meaningful conversations, and that feeling of being completely present. We explore nature together, walk through the forest, cross rivers barefoot, and simply enjoy the beauty around us. Days like this remind me how little we actually need to feel happy.
