Today, I'll take you away from rainy Da Nang and aboard the most beautiful sightseeing train in Vietnam – the "Connecting Central Heritage Train" – which has been named by National Geographic as one of the "50 places you must visit in a lifetime." This roughly 100-kilometer mountain-and-sea railway links Da Nang with the ancient capital of Hue. Along the way, the tracks hug steep cliffs, while the brilliant blue South China Sea and the cloud-shrouded Hai Van Pass unfold right outside the window. In this video, I'll not only share how to buy tickets, show you the onboard facilities, and give you tips on choosing a seat (forward-facing vs. backward-facing, ocean-view vs. mountain-view), but I'll also take you to the world's most beautiful bay – Lang Co Bay – where we'll get off to try some fried bananas. Finally, we'll arrive at the century-old Hue Railway Station, built in 1906, and take a leisurely stroll along the Perfume River, the mother river of Hue, to experience the city's ultra-low cost of living and slow-paced lifestyle.
