EASY YAKITORI DONBURI (Japanese Grilled Chicken Rice Bowl) 焼き鳥丼 2 servings Ingredients: -boneless, skin-on chicken thighs 300 gr -Cooking oil 2 tsp (for chicken) -Cooking oil 2 tsp (for eggs) -Nori -Steamed rice for 2 servings -Green onion or negi, for garnish (optional) For coating chicken: -Sake 1 tbsp -Shoyu (soy sauce) 1/2 tbsp -All purpose flour 2 tbsp Yakitori Sauce : -Shoyu (soy sauce) 2 tbsp -Sugar 2 tbsp -Sake 1 tbsp -Mirin 1 tbsp For egg mixture : -Eggs 2 -Mirin 2 tsp -Salt & black pepper Methods: 1.Gather all the ingredients. 2.In a small bowl, crack the eggs, add mirin, salt & black pepper. Mix well. 3.Cut chicken into bite size pieces & place in a bowl. Coat the chicken with sake, shoyu (soy sauce) & flour. 4.Heat oil in a frying pan over medium heat, when the pan is hot, add chicken skin side down & cook for about 2-3 minutes until nicely brown. Then flip them over & cook for another 3 minutes. Transfer to a plate. 5.Wipe the frying pan with a paper towel & heat oil over medium heat, cook the beaten egg until the egg is done to your liking. Transfer to a plate. 6.Wipe the frying pan with a paper towel & add the chicken back & the sauce. Coat the chicken with the sauce & cook until the sauce is thickened. 7.Divide 2 servings cooked rice into the donburi bowls. Sprinkle nori over the steamed rice & egg mixture.
