GIO/TRILLIUM WORKS STORAGE TRACKS, THEN VESUVIUS

August 06, 2025 This day we followed GIO Rail’s locomotive LDSX 1506 while they worked several storage tracks, (followed by servicing Vesuvius Canada -which were unable to film), then crossed the historic Welland Canal railroad swing bridge #15, then finally as they crossed another historic railroad bridge – bridge number 17 which is the non-lifting lift bridge at Dain City. We were fortunate to capture some aerial footage of both those bridge crossings. Before we get into watching the action we’ll attempt to show in map images from around Welland, Ontario just exactly where we caught LDSX 1506 travelled. Stay to the end and we’ll talk a little bit about the railroad swing bridge #15.
