FIRE DEPARTMENT called in CAJON PASS, HELPERS to the RESCUE & Cut-Away on the Fly at SUMMIT

No location given, but they sounded close... I was driving North on I-15 and took the Glen Helen Exit and drove South on Cajon Blvd. to see if I could see anything going on. As I approached Verdemont, I could see what looked like the head end of an Eastbound Stack train, so I continued to the rear, as the report called in a "Rear DPU". As I pulled up, I could see this was the unit in question: BNSF 9200 EMD SD70ACe built around 2008? 🔥🚒The conductor was just making his way back here and was reporting that it looks like the Turbo Blew, no flames, but he could tell it was on fire. BNSF's Rapid Responder and the Fire Department arrived shortly after to access the scene. You will also notice a lot of Security, patrolling this train! This is a high theft area, which is pretty much everywhere, and they were keeping a close eye on it while the train was stopped. It was determined that the flame ups on the 9200 were occuring while the unit was under load, providing power for the steep climb. The unit was isolated, so it would remain idling. With that unit not providing power, helpers were now required to get the stack train back over the minimum HPT requirement to climb the hill. Helpers were added to the rear of the stack train, and they began their ascent up Cajon Pass. I decided to follow the train up the hill, so the chase was on! I drove back to Sullivan's Curve about 12 miles ahead, and set up with the drone and the Roll By Cam.😎 Less than 15 minutes after setting up, the troubled stack train comes rumbling up through CP Cajon and starts around Sullivan's Curve. Got another good radio conversation here, between the DS and the Crew as they passed 👍 You will see a couple Train Robbers near the rear here as well! From here I raced up to Summit, 6 miles ahead and barely took off with the drone before they rounded the bend. As they crest the Summit, they communicated with the Helpers and got ready to cut-away! Following the Helpers, we got a great view of them cutting away on the fly!
