(18 Jun 1945) The Allied Commander, General Eisenhower, is given the Freedom of the City of London. Mr and Mrs Churchill greeted him on his arrival at the Guildhall for the ceremony. From the Guildhall General Eisenhower went to the Mansion House and from there he spoke to the gathered crowd.
