Part 3 of 9: Feeding Life, Minerals, Microbes & Seeds - The Principles of Biological Systems
Workshop with Dan Kittredge, Executive Director of Bionutrient Food Association Part 3 of 9 from 2 day workshop : FEEDING LIFE — MINERALS, MICROBES & SEEDS — How rock dust, biology, & seed vitality build momentum from the start. Once the mineral base is understood, Dan moves into how to actually feed life in the soil. This chapter connects three things that are often separated: minerals, microbes, and seed quality. He explains why dumping large doses of nutrients can shock soil biology, and why slow, buffered, biological feeding works better long-term. Rock dust, sea minerals, compost, and carbon sources become tools for supporting the underground community that truly feeds plants. Dan also talks about inoculation — introducing beneficial microbes right where seeds and roots begin. Whether through compost, seed coatings, or simple microbial teas, the goal is to help young plants build partnerships early. Healthy seeds plus healthy microbes create momentum that carries through the whole season. Farming, in this view, isn’t about force — it’s about setting life up to succeed. #SoilMicrobes #SeedStarting #SoilLife #OrganicFarming #HealthyPlants Recorded in Richmond, VA – 2016
