I rode over Onyu Pass, the shortest route from a convenience store in Higashi Obama, Obama City, Fukui Prefecture, to Otsu City, Shiga Prefecture. The forest roads leading to Onyu Pass, the Kami-Negoro Line and the Koiriya Line, are both fully paved and narrow, but as long as you watch out for falling rocks, even large motorcycles have no problem. This time, it took me an hour and 10 minutes to ride from the convenience store in Higashi Obama to enter Saba Kaido (National Route 367) in Otsu City, Shiga Prefecture. The views from Onyu Pass are spectacular in both Fukui and Shiga Prefectures, and I enjoyed riding along the forest road. This video is simply a ride along the forest road over Onyu Pass.
