Thailand Is Tightening The Rules Again

Today we escaped the Bangkok traffic again and headed out to another hidden riverside restaurant for lunch, sea bass, river breeze, and one of those conversations that somehow turns into a full Thailand reality check. This week Thailand has been buzzing with changes. The government is tightening visa-free entry rules, immigration crackdowns are increasing, and there’s another major co-pay support package rolling out for Thai citizens struggling with rising living costs. Tourism is changing too, with Thailand clearly trying to attract what officials call “quality tourists” while still balancing the relaxed culture that made people fall in love with the country in the first place. Along the way we talk about retirement life in Thailand, debt culture, the changing cannabis regulations, and why so many foreigners still misunderstand what Thailand really is outside the tourist zones.
