SIAM = 42? The Answer to Life Might Be Thailand

Some lunch dates turn into ordinary conversations. Others somehow end up connecting Thailand, The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, artificial intelligence, and the number 42. This week Chanya takes me to a delightful little countryside café after we return from Sukhothai, where we attended the traditional 100-day family memorial for her grandfather. As always, one conversation leads to another. We talk about Thai lottery numbers, why I always choose 42, and then wander into one of Douglas Adams' greatest jokes... the answer to life, the universe and everything. But after playing with a simple A=1, Z=26 number cipher, I discovered something that made me laugh. S-I-A-M equals 42. Coincidence? Probably. Fun to think about? Absolutely. Along the way we chat about AI photography, Meta smart glasses, instant language translation, retirement in Thailand, future technology, and why sometimes the best days are simply wandering around with a camera and enjoying life.
