The marbles, hoops, and skipping rope were some of the childhood pastimes of our protagonists, in a time when toys were scarce. They attended a school where education was rigid and strict, marked by a strong religious influence under the maxim "spare the rod and spoil the child." In this episode of the podcast "Memories with History," we revisit the experiences of our protagonists as children and how, over the years, they have witnessed the shift from authoritarian education to more humane classrooms. Some of the participants even retain vivid memories of the Spanish Civil War and the post-war period, which profoundly shaped their childhoods.
