PAVLO KOLOMIETS (1900–1930) — Ukrainian poet, journalist, public figure. Representative of the "Shooted Renaissance". Born in 1900 in Konotop (now Sumy Oblast). He worked as a factory worker, later participated in military operations as part of the Red Army. In peacetime, he headed the public education department in Konotop, worked as an editor of a local newspaper. He published his works in the capital's magazines "Chervonyi Shlyakh" and "Zhyttya i revolutsiya". During his lifetime, he published the only poetry collection "Partitura trancey" (1930). The manuscript of the second collection "Sadivnyk" was confiscated or lost. In the late 1920s, he came under the close supervision of the GPU. He was subjected to systematic ideological harassment and accusations of ties with anti-Soviet elements. He shot himself on November 10, 1930 in Konotop, right during a visit by officers of the penal system with a warrant for his arrest.
