This system is based on the AC Milan team of 2007; which saw AC Milan win the UEFA Champions League for the second time under the reign of Carlo Ancelotti, following the success of 2003. The idea of the system is to provide lots of short passing options in central areas with five central midfielders. In turn, this would create space for the wing backs to overlap and open up the game. The front three of Kaka, Clarence Seedorf and Filippo Inzaghi were the predominant source of goals. Whilst the rest of the central midfielders steadied the ship. In defence, the sstem focuses on being very narrow and compact; making it tough for the oppositon to break down.
