Life in Dobropillia has come to a near standstill. Once a rear city in the Donetsk region, it is now turning into a zone of total destruction and a hunting ground for enemy drones. For the Russian army, this is a key direction leading to the Kramatorsk agglomeration. By burning out infrastructure, the enemy attempts to breach the defense line and clear a path for further offensive operations in Donbas. The Ukrainian Witness team walked through the broken streets where almost no one is left. Wide-open apartments, abandoned animals, and fresh graves right in the courtyards of high-rise buildings — this is what Dobropillia looks like today. Despite the lack of electricity and gas, and ongoing Russian terror, some civilians remain, having learned to exist in these subhuman conditions while hiding from constant shelling.
