The Russians aim to completely encircle Pokrovsk. To do this, they have changed their tactics and are trying to cut off access to the city. Every five minutes, another FPV drone can be heard buzzing overhead. To reach their positions, Ukrainian soldiers have to move on foot, stopping several times along the way. “Over the past two weeks, seven of our vehicles have been destroyed,” the soldiers explain, hiding in a tree line from FPV drones. Correspondent Anna Kaliuzhna spent several days with soldiers of the 68th Separate Jaeger Brigade on the outskirts of the city. She saw what it now takes to reach positions, how Russians hunt our troops, and how we counter this.
