Faithless Fire

I wrote “Faithless Fire” as a fierce challenge to the dangers of blind faith and unquestioned authority. Throughout history, people have wielded belief, whether religious, political, or cultural, as both a source of comfort and a means of control. I wanted to capture the moment when people begin to question, to see through the rituals and dogmas designed to divide or silence them, and to reclaim their power to think freely. The imagery in this song burning scriptures, cracked stained glass, crowds awakening serves as a metaphor for breaking out of centuries-old systems that thrive on obedience rather than understanding. “Faithless Fire” is not an attack on spirituality itself but a call to resist manipulation and demand honesty from those who claim to speak for higher powers. Musically, I chose a gothic-rock opera style with aggressive riffs and operatic vocals to mirror the intensity of this awakening. The grand, dramatic arrangement underscores the emotional journey from submission to liberation. The song’s energy is meant to be both cathartic and empowering, giving voice to the courage it takes to question, to doubt, and ultimately to break free from inherited limitations. For me, “Faithless Fire” is about celebrating the strength found in independent thought and the beauty of building new truths from the ashes of the old. It’s a tribute to anyone who has ever dared to ask, "Why?" and, in doing so, has helped light the way for others.
