Z Bohnic do Dejvic lanovkou: Kdy se svezete a kolik to bude stát?
Cable car between Bohnice and Dejvice? No, it's not one of those crazy pre-election ideas, but a project that will actually see the light of day. What should you know about it? We will focus on this in the next part of the series Live Prague. Why is Prague actually starting to build a cable car? Thanks to it, the journey from Kraków to Victory Square will be shortened from the original 40 to just 15 minutes! You might wonder why the city came up with a cable car and not, for example, a new tram line. The biggest problem is that the tram would cost around 8 billion crowns and God knows when it would be ready. The cable car can be built much faster and cheaper. But Prague doesn't forget trams either, as we showed in one of the past videos dedicated to the development of the tram network: • Nové tramvajové tratě v Praze: Na které se... The winning form of the cable car was created by the architectural studio William Matthews Associates in collaboration with Expedition Engineering. The cable car will have 3 stops in total. The upper station will be in front of the Kraków shopping center, the lower one next to the Podbaba bus stop. An intermediate station will be established at the Prague Zoo in Podhoří. Each cabin can accommodate 35 people, and at peak times the cable car can carry up to 2,300 people per hour. And when can we look forward to connecting Bohnice and Dejvice with the new cable car? If all goes according to plan, the first passengers could ride as early as 2025. What do you think of the new cable car? Do you think it is necessary or is it a waste of money? Or would you rather connect the mentioned two Prague districts, for example, by tram? The best from this point of view is the train. See for yourself in our video: • Jak cestovat po Praze nejrychleji? Vlakem!
