8th Alarm Factory Fire Moorebank

Moorebank Factory Fire 20-9-24 This afternoon Fire & Rescue NSW crews responded to reports of a Factory Fire on Kaleski Street at Moorebank. Crews arrived to find a row of factory units well alight, with heavy fire spreading rapidly through the entire complex. Over a hundred firefighters worked for several hours to contain the fire, facing flames over 20 metres high and numerous explosions. Firefighters in breathing apparatus worked from surrounding factories with hoselines to protect them, working with numerous aerial appliances from above and monitors from the ground. Crews draughted from water tanks on Heathcote Road and set up a half a kilometre long water relay to supply the fireground. The fire is now contained but crews will continue to work for several hours to completely extinguish the fire.
