Snow on the beach? Let's go metal detecting on Myrtle Beach!

Targets were scarce but the heart ❤️ was willing. Join us on a silly beach metal detecting adventure in North Myrtle Beach ⛱️❄️ This morning we were back out beach metal detecting in Myrtle Beach, braving a cold, snowy February 1st that made the sand crunchy and the signals few and far between. Conditions weren’t ideal, but we stuck it out anyway — because that’s just part of metal detecting on the beach. I brought along my new CKG scoop, one of four we recently picked up as we continue building Myrtle Metal with my son, Ashton. In this video, I also talk a bit about our new family venture and why we love sharing metal detecting through couples experiences, beginner coaching, and small group treasure hunts here in the Myrtle Beach area. Finds were sparse, but we still managed to dig plenty of beach debris, a few coins, some interesting ammunition shells (including a WWII-era round), and even a questionable ring-like object. Some days the beach gives, some days it humbles you — but every hunt has its moments. I like to think that late dime was good karma for picking up trash, and at the very least, the beach gods sent us home with a decent shell. This one’s more about the laughs, the persistence, and enjoying time on the beach than big treasure.
