My EASIEST SUMMIT EVER, Mount Lipsett Hike #canadianrockies
The Mount Lipsett hike is moderately challenging, and it is located in Kananaskis Country, Alberta. The trail offers a moderate challenge. It's known for its stunning wildflowers in the summer and breathtaking views of the surrounding peaks, including Mist Mountain. The trail follows an old coal exploration road and is accessible from Highway 40, which is open from June 15 to November 30. It's a popular spot, so you might encounter other hikers, but the scenery and tranquility make it worth the trip. Canadian Rockies Hike. August 30/2022 Summer Hike Today we are in Kananaskis Country, and we will be summiting Mount Lipsett. This is the easiest summit I have ever done, and oh those views. The trail is 15.1 kilometers out and back, with an elevation gain of 753 meters. For the majority of this trail, we will be hiking up an old coal mining road. For the first 3.5 kilometers you will have not views, as the trail is in the trees. The incline is minimal, about 100 meters in elevation gain per 1 kilometer. There were a few spots where the road got a little muddy, but people have worn a trail through the trees on the right side of the road. You will also encounter a few switchbacks. Around 3.5k you will start to get views looking at the mountains across the valley. Soon you will start and get views of Mist Mountain. I scrambled up this mountain 3 years ago, Sept 3/2019. This was my first summit over 10,000 (over 3000 meters). If you would like to see the video I made of this hike, you can see it on my channel. At around 5k you will see a couple peaks ahead of you, but these are not the summits. Soon you will have broken out of the trees and will be in a meadow area. At 5.37k you will have stunning views in all directions. In the peak of summer, I bet this area is popping with wildflowers. You still will not be able to see the summit yet. Eventually the trail will take you to the backside, and as you continue to climb you will have Mist Mountain towering over you on the right. At around 6.5k the road will end, and the summit will be in view. Now you will be on a smaller trail and the elevation gain will increase. At 7.5k you will have reached the summit, WooHoo. Now it was time to relax and take the 360 views in. I spent about an hour at the summit, and I had the whole thing to myself. My elevation was 2575 meters above sea level. I descended slowly just to take the stunning views in. What a great hike. And if the day couldn’t get any better, I saw a young Grizzly Bear on the side of the road on my way home. This is my 85th video. Thank you very much for watching. If you enjoyed this video, please give it a thumbs up.
