September 3/2019 Summer Hike Today we are in the Elbow-Sheep Wildland Provincial Park, in Alberta. We will be scrambling up to the top of Mist Mountain. The trail is 9.8 kilometers out and back, with an elevation gain of 1265 meters. This was my first summit over 10,000 ft, and it wasn’t an easy one. The scree is very steep and loose as you approach the summit. It was quite an adventure. It took me a lot longer than I anticipated, and I hiked the last 4 kilometers out in the dark.
