vPub Live - Young Whisky; Avoid or Enjoy?

**Time stamps below** You've maybe caught me banging on about age statements or vintage details on labels when it comes to our whisky purchases, but what am I actually asking for and what might it actually deliver? Well, apart from transparency, it can help manage our expectations, which can then be used to determine the value prospect before being missed, met or exceeded. Yet what we're actually getting into is the threat of contemplating not just single-digit age statements, but very young single-digit age statements. What will that be like? What does this young whisky taste like? Is it worth it? As examples I've pulled together a few bottles of official and independent whisky where the oldest age statement is 6 years old. In fact, in many countries, the youngest here would not be considered whisky, yet. Here's how crazy it is; the actual age of all six bottles combined is around 25 years, the same as many readily available malts and, depending on the choice of malt, the price can add up to around the same also. So what's the difference and where should the money go? These questions are of course, pretty nonsensical, but they're here to provide a topic for consideration. I hope you'll join me to help with that contemplation and consideration. With most of these long gone and sold out - this is a vPub firmly intended NOT to bring on any sharp purchasing desires or FOMO. At least I hope so. See you down the vPub!
