PS2 - Shadow Hearts: From the New World Part 37 - Ninja Hideaway

RetroPlay: Video Game Walkthroughs Shadow Hearts: From the New World by: OmegaSion Frank returns to the Ninja Hideaway to see what the Jonin was wanting to see him about. Snaps required from this dungeon: 1x Ninja Ah, Franks side-mission. If you've played any Camelot golf games (Hot Shots Golf, Mario Golf, etc), or Spheda in Dark Cloud 2 then you will feel right at home with this side-dungeon. Thankfully the game is also somewhat lenient about the distances, you don't have to get them spot on, just in the general area. The goal is to find the Secret Writings and make your way to the inner part of the dungeon using Momonga Arts. You get a tutorial about how to use them from the first caddie you talk to. I suggest equipping your team with Pocket Watches, because while there isn't many battles, there are about 6 or so event battles you will have to fight, and the enemies love using ring status effects. After the second jump, you will find a female ninja who will give you a clue as to how to find the Secret Writings. Go toward the next scaffolding and you'll be attacked. After this jump, you'll find another female ninja who mentions another clue. Using these clues, you should make the next jump 40 more than what the caddie tells you, which will land you in the area where the Secret Writings are located. Once they are obtained simply follow the caddie's suggestions for the jumps to make it to the interior. Equip Frank with a Crucifix and Apathy 2 before going on. Once you go forward you will meet the Jonin who was waiting for Frank, and now Frank has to do battle with him. He isn't too tough, though. Just have Frank cast Gale on himself and deal with the Jonin's stock with a double. If you get lucky Apathy will take effect and you won't have to worry about his stock gauge any more. Continue with casting Shield and Rage on Frank and use Thera Roots to heal when you need to heal. After you're done buffing simply smash the Jonin with melee and/or Franks specials and he'll be down in no time. Your reward for defeating the Jonin is Frank's best weapon, the Spicy Skewer. However we're not done, go back and talk to the Jonin and he'll challenge Frank by stating he's a 5th Rank in the Momonga Arts. So back to the dungeon. This time, you have to make it to the interior using as few jumps as possible. It's not that difficult, just follow these distances: 200 for the first, 220 for the next jump, 240 for the third, then the suggested distance for the fourth and final. For doing this in four jumps you are rewarded with: Another Crucifix, a Third Key, a Zodiac Bracelet, a Hit and Strike Area Expand, and a Thera Extract. Talk to the lady again and she'll send you back to the entrance. We still have a few things to grab here, one of which is very important. Go back and follow these distances: 200 for the first jump, 260 for the second, in this area you can grab a Pure Extract and a Fruity Fiber. 270 for the next jump, after this jump check near the waterfall for the 14th and final Ring Fragment. Use the suggested distance for the next jump, and the jump after that. Finally on the next jump go 280 to reach an area with a Hit Area Expand, which is the final item here, so now you can use the Hole Out option to leave. Before I end the segment, I take the last ring fragment to Aya, and let Johnny say his farewells to her. In the next segment, we'll be going after that Legendary UMA for Nvwoti.
