PS2 - Shadow Hearts: From the New World Part 38 - The Legendary UMA

RetroPlay: Video Game Walkthroughs Shadow Hearts: From the New World by: OmegaSion The party heads to Guiana Highlands in order for Natan to hunt down the Legendary UMA. Snaps required for this dungeon: 7x Seymouria 3x Soldes and Anaka 1x of the boss. Before heading into Guiana, I make a few side trips: First I farmed 20 of each Cat Coin before recording this video, with those in hand I head to Vegas to trade them in for Mao's best armor. Next up I go and turn in some more Snap trades, one of which nets me Ricardo's best weapon. Lastly, since I have over 5000 points on my Shopping Card, Gerard hands me the final Black Card which removes all penalties from missing the shop rings, as well as giving the highest Discount and Overcharge rates (60% off and 30% increase). I also snag another Ultra Belt with my steps (I honestly don't know why I didn't do this earlier). With those out of the way, it's off to Guiana Highlands. Welcome to Natan's final UMA hunt, and also the most annoying in my opinion. You will have to use almost, if not all of the traps in order to lure this one out, and the only thing you have to go by is clues you find on the research team's remains, all while running back and forth between certain trap areas (and there are a lot of meat icons that will pop up in this area to try to throw you off). I'll not write out exactly what you have to do, as it would probably be too much for the description panel, so I'll have to let the video explain it. Once you have all the traps set, Natan will mention that it should be back at it's nest. Once you get this message it's time to finally go fight the beast. Make sure your team is equipped with Pocket Watches and/or Crucifixes, and equip the Slow 3 and SP. Defend Down 3 ring items before you face off against it. As for the fight itself, typical boss strategy of removing it's stock, buffing up, and smashing it with combos. It's weak against Darkness Element, so let loose with your best dark spells you have. With Arc Surge and inflicting SP. Defend Down on the boss you should be able to take it out with a Double Combo at around 3000 HP. After the boss is taken care of, you're put back on the map screen. As with all the optional bosses that do this, go back to where you fought it and you'll net the Bright Crest Stellar, also search around the southwest to grab the Thief Earrings (20% increase to both Money and Item drops), and along the north cliff to grab a Lottery Ticket. Once you have those go report in to Nvwoti to snag Natan's final skill: Soul Valet. With this boss done, I finally have enough souls to finish maxing out Shania's Fusion statues. This is a requirement for her optional dungeon which in turn is a requirement for the game's good ending. So next up we'll go take care of that.
