Pisa-Sposalizio del mare 2026 : storia, tradizioni e futuro.

In its 2026 edition, the traditional Marriage of the Sea festival will span four days, culminating on July 6th, the ancient Feast of St. Peter, with the ring ceremony. The organization is under the direction of the Marriage of the Sea Deputation, composed of 14 associations. The Program Friday, July 3rd, 11:00 a.m.: Presentation of the event in the Logge di Banchi; coronation of Madonna Pisa, by drawing lots among the girls present. Saturday, July 4th, 10:30 a.m.: Guided tour of the Basilica of St. Peter the Apostle, led by Alessandro Tamberi of the Committee for the Promotion of the Basilica. Reservations are not required. Sunday, July 5th, 8:45 a.m.: Marriage of the Sea walk along the Arno riverside, organized by the VagaMonti group of the Compagnia di Calci. Meet at the Cittadella Fortilizio. Info: WhatsApp Rinaldo at 349 4649333. The Museum of Ancient Ships in Pisa (at the Arsenali Medicei) will be open Saturday and Sunday, 2:00 PM - 7:30 PM. Monday, July 6, Feast of St. Peter. 11:00 AM: Sung Mass in the Basilica of St. Peter the Apostle, with the Vox Humana choir; blessing of the ring. 5:00 PM: Gathering and departure of the historical parade from the Town Hall, arriving at Scalo Roncioni. 6:00 PM: Departure of the river parade, with historical narrations on board; arrival near the sea and ring ceremony.
