4th Alarm at Diamond Fire Company, Walnutport, PA | 11.02.14

At 12:06 Sunday afternoon, Lehigh County Radio sent Stations 29 and 24 to 209 Washington Street for a structural fire. Callers were reporting smoke from the firehouse. Immediately upon signing on radio, Chief 29 struck the 2nd alarm for the companies social quarters located at 100 Main Street, directly across from the apparatus floor / station. Within minutes, he struck out the 3rd alarm as the fire was venting out both ends of the roof. Within 6 minutes, a fourth alarm was transmitted. 2 tower ladders were set-up on the Washington Street side, Ladder 29 was in the rear, Slatington Ladder 24 was on side 4 in the parking lot and Ladder 47 (Lehigh Township) was on Main Street in the front of the fire building. 3 ladder pipes were in operation and quickly darkened down the bulk of the fire. Walnutport Fire was assisted by companies from Lehigh, Northampton and Carbon Counties.
