Mount Hector AB (Part 2 The Descend)

Mount Hector, AB April 26, 2025 There’s not much to say about Mount Hector our plan was simple, as usual. We had another alpine start for this 11,000er, hitting the trail at 3 a.m. The sunrise was beautiful, and it turned out to be a perfect day for backcountry skiing. The trail was well marked, which made the approach straightforward. The crux sections weren’t too bad. We decided to rope up from this section. There are also two bolted anchors if you want to lead, belay your partners, or rappel the crux section. The summit offered amazing views of the Canadian Rockies. On the way down, we chose not to use the rope. We downclimbed all the way, were we left our skis. Then clicked back into our skis and had a lot of fun skiing down.
