He’s Run CAVE STREET FISHERIES For 40 YEARS... And Changed NOTHING! 😮

After hearing time and again that I needed to visit Cave Street Fisheries, I called in to meet Carl, who has been running this much-loved Hull chippy for an incredible 40 years. Fresh from winning the City Centre Fish and Chip Award, Carl explains why customers travel from York, Beverley, Doncaster and beyond for Cave Street’s traditional fish and chips. The menu has barely changed in four decades; the same trusted potato varieties are still used, and they are still frying those proper dark chips and crispy scraps that locals love. We also chat about frozen-at-sea fish from Grimsby, why it can be one of the freshest ways to enjoy fish, the heat behind the range, and why Carl has never felt the need to follow every new trend. This is not a review, just a look inside one of Hull’s best-known traditional chip shops. Have you been to Cave Street Fisheries? Let me know what you think in the comments.
